Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized for her pioneering work in studying witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory within legal contexts. Professor Goodman has published numerous papers, received many grants and been recognized with several international and national distinctions. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments around all over the world on policy and research relating to the treatment of children victims of the law by the system. She is a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice.
